The partners of Boyd•Dollansky, LLC broke ground on their Zachman Meadows projects on July 26th, 2024. With permits in place and blessings from the City of Otsego, MN and Wright County the ground was broken on the land formerly farmed by the Zachman family, who still reside in the area. The parcels were slated to become a residential housing development and a commercial project for business, storage and hobby enthusiasts. The developers concentrated first on the design and engineering of the residential portion of the project. Boyd•Dollansky tapped the engineering firm, Landform Professional Services, LLC to begin the process of surveying, engineering and planning for Zachman Meadows. Bringing a project of this magnitude into reality takes many people to have a vision, incorporate a plan, create a design that works best with the land, taking in account what is under the surface of that horizon line. Dealing with the natural resources, municipalities and getting the necessary approvals and permits can be daunting. Planning for lots, streets, foliage, and infrastructure for utilities, is especially important went the project is one including city sewer and water. The onus is primarily the responsibility of the land developer, who must have the ability to front the necessary cash to keep the project moving. Cities and municipalities are the gate keepers for all projects that get developed, and after 2008 (where many developers failed) the fail safes are even more stringent.
Our organization was blessed with a great construction season in 2024. There was very few rain days or delays for the residential development that was closed in late October. Boyd•Dollansky selected contractors that met deadlines, put in extra hours and exceded expectations to close on this project in 95 Days! The project, with guidence from the purchaser Lennar, (U.S. Homes) will be renamed Castella Meadows for marketing purposes. Lennar has built over one million new homes since 1954. They have broken ground on their welcome center and first model in the development. Watch for this neighborhood to pop up in the spring and summer of 2025 in Otsego, Minnesota.
